Honda is my choice for the brand with the alphabet H for today’s #AToZChallenge, for the theme ‘Brands that people identify with‘. One of the most well recognized automobile brands in the world, Honda Motor was established in Sept 24, 1948, by Soichiro Honda, in Itaya-cho, Hamamatsu, Japan.
Google is my choice for the brand with the alphabet G for today’s #AtoZChallenge, for the theme ‘Brands that people identify with’. Easy to guess, again. Founded in 1998, by Larry Page and Sergey Bin, Google is one of the most innovative companies in the world.
Facebook is my choice for F, for today’s #AtoZChallenge, for the theme ‘Brands that people identify with’. Obvious, isn’t it? Launched in 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg with his college fellows, the website, initially meant for use by Harvard students, was later expanded to students at other universities and high schools, and then to the employees of companies, including Apple Inc. and Microsoft. Starting from September, 2006, Facebook was opened to everyone at least 13 years old with a valid email address.
eBay is the brand for today’s #AtoZChallenge, for the theme ‘Brands that people identify with’. The world’s largest online marketplace, where people sell and buy just about anything from sandwiches, to Chihuahua pets, to Lamborghini, to airplanes and jets, is an amazingly popular and successful website. Originally called AuctionWeb, eBay was founded in SanJose, California in 1995 by Iranian American computer programmer Pierre Omidya at the age of 28.
While Disney is the perhaps the best known brand, starting with D, but my pick for today’s #AtoZChallenge for the theme ‘Brands that people identify with’, is Danone, as its healthy food products find their way into our homes. In 1919, Isaac Carasso, started a small yogurt business in Barcelona, Spain and named it “Danone,” meaning “Little Daniel” after his son. Carasso came from the Balkans, where yogurt was a dietary staple; and so he decided to introduce this healthy product in Barcelona.
Keeping in line with my theme ‘Brands that people identify with’, for #AtoZChallenge, the brand that I’ll write about today, is Coca Cola – the fizzy drink that is recognized by young and old alike all over the world. This iconic brand, which is sold in over 200 different countries, was launched way back in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia!
The alphabet for today is B; the brand that comes to my mind is The Body Shop. In line with my theme for the #AtoZChallenge, ‘Brands that people identify with’, my today’s pick is The Body Shop. ‘Beauty with a Heart‘ is what the brand stands for. This company too, was found in the UK in 1976, the same year when Apple was founded in the US.
Apple turned a year short of 40 today. Born in a garage in the US, on 1st April, 1976, Apple grew up to become one of the world best brands under the care of its founders Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. My theme for the challenge being ‘Brands that people identify with’, what could be a more apt name than Apple to begin my #AtoZ Challenge with?
Having read a lot about the merits of a self- hosted blog over a wordpress.com blog, over the last few days I was in two minds whether to move my blog Scribble and Scrawl to a self- hosted blog or to stay put. Finally, after some deliberation, I decided against moving from wordpress.com to wordpress.org, at least for now. But then, bitten by the blogging bug and ever ready to explore new options, I could not entirely rule out the option of starting a new self-hosted wordpress blog. So, today when I read fellow blogger Ruby Singh’s post on participating in the A to Z Challenge, it suddenly occurred to me what could be a better way to start this new blog Life11, than to take up a challenge right at the onset. So here I am, taking up the A to Z Blogging Challenge. Since the blog is all about celebrating Life, the category obviously is Lifestyle. My theme for the challenge will be ‘Brands that people identify with‘. I am keeping my fingers crossed in the hope that I will be be able to cover all alphabets from A to Z without a break. Are you taking up the challenge?
