Take Your Own Airtel 4G Speed Test

If I ask, “What peeves you most while surfing the net on your cell?”, a big likelihood is that your answer would be, “the speed of net“.

Yes, we do crib a lot about the speed of connectivity and why not? India is one of the countries in Asia with the slowest internet connection.

This is rather frustrating, given the growing need to be able to go online at any point of time. With eCommerce trend picking up in India, and apps going completely mobile, good net speed is going to be a necessity in the present times.

Just a few days back, as I tried shopping for accessories online, before my Hindustani dil could say aur dikhao, the net crawling at a slow speed, put a break to my heart’s desire. Slow NetInstead of browsing through the wide collection on my cell, I decided to wait till I could log in from my laptop, thanking my stars that the site has not yet ditched its desktop version.

Not only that, at the risk of being seen as snobbish, I often ask my friends on Whatsapp to refrain from sending images and particularly videos due to the time it takes to download.

But, now it seems the slow net days will soon be a matter of the past with the PAN India launch of Airtel 4G and its blazing speed. Here’s a chance to find out for yourself. Take the #Airtel4GSpeedTest.

Here’s what you need to do: Tweet to Airtel India in the format – @AirtelIndia #Airtel4GSpeedTest to find out out much time does a particular application take to download on 2G, 3G and 4G. @AirtelIndia will swiftly respond to you with an infographic.

And, forget about waiting in a queue to get the SIM activated. If you have a 4G enabled handset, all you need to do is to tweet with #GetAirtel4G. Twitter Handle @AirtelIndia will reply to your tweet, with the link that will direct you to the form in which you fill in your details for receiving the delivery of the SIM.

If you already have a Airtel 2G/ 3G sim you can get it swapped for a 4G sim.

Even if you don’t have a 4G handset, you can go to Flipkart, where you can upgrade your SIM as well as your handset.

And did I tell you that the 4G packs are available at the 3G prices?

So why wait?  Tweet with the hashtag #GetAirtel4G and enjoy surfing with 4G speed…at 3G price.

We are a generation that has seen the transition from times when there was no internet to the world connected with net, from desktops to laptops and then to tablets. Now is the time for another smart transition from 3G to 4G.

Airtel is number 1 in India. I had their plan and never had any complaints. I bet, they will maintain their standards even with 4G launch.

Thank you Saru. Yes I too believe that as speed is a necessity now, they must and will maintain the standards. 🙂

I tweeted it, Somali, but the subscription form doesn’t have the name of my city in it. Moreover, I live in that part of India, where one has to search for a proper place to get the signals properly. What do I say? I think first they should focus on building significant number of towers. But then…. there are environmentalist & bird lover. The irony is people want proper signals in posh areas, but not mobile towers.

Thank you Ravish for bringing it to notice. Hope Airtel takes into account such feedback and builds sufficient number of towers to adequately cover a PAN India base.

I wish it really works well far better than 3G. Very well presented dear 🙂
